Eberhard Schürmann Foundation

Financial support for academic achievements and research in metallurgy, materials science and materials engineering

The purpose of the Eberhard Schürmann Foundation is to use the proceeds of the foundation's capital to promote outstanding achievements in the fields of metallurgy, materials science and the application technology of metallic materials in Germany and abroad.

Possible projects are

• Prizes for very good dissertations, theses or student research projects
• Scientific work
• Scientific cooperation with domestic and foreign universities
• Research and teaching activities in need

All members of TU Clausthal who study, teach and research in the above-mentioned fields are eligible to apply.

• The application for the Eberhard Schürmann Prize for outstanding dissertations, Bachelor's/Master's theses and student research projects must be accompanied by a positive report from the supervising professor.
• For a financial grant for scientific projects, an informal application is required, if necessary with an application form.

A board of trustees of the foundation selects applications following a call for proposals, which must be submitted to the chairman of the foundation by a deadline.
